If there’s one thing that is certain about this time of year it’s that gig season is about to kick off. The festivals are over, which means waving goodbye to lazing in sunny fields cradling a cider and a hangover and saying helloooooo to getting intimate with new acts in your fave venues. Kick-start the season with the September playlist!
I’ve kicked off a bit of a love affair with Germany lately, having been to a few festivals and soaked up the glorious weather they’ve been having (and OF COURSE the beer and sausage), so when I was invited to pack my bags and fly away to discover what Hamburg had to offer for the weekend, I jumped at the chance.
It goes without saying, I love to travel. I’ve been so lucky this past year to do so much of it, flitting about here and there for city weekend breaks and extended trips overseas – but I have to say, the most daunting part of travelling for me is the packing. I always put it off until the last minute, end up throwing anything into a bag in the middle of the night before the airport run, then wonder what the hell I’m wearing when I finally get where I’m going, or can reel off a list of important things I’ve forgotten. So here are my most important travel essentials…
I’ve had a little bit of spare time on my hands this month (after the hectic festival marathon that was July!), so I’ve been using it to catch up on tunes old and new and updating the trusty iPod with some cracking music – it was SO in need of an update, after the Jonas Brothers popped up the other day…
There’s one question that I seem to be getting quite a lot lately which is rapidly starting to become a bit of a pet peeve of mine: “So, what are you actually planning on doing with your life then?”
Yep, that old chestnut.
Because the truth is, I have no bloody idea what I’m planning on doing with my life – except to live it.
