Stay the Night: Eden Locke, Edinburgh

Stay the Night: Eden Locke, Edinburgh

Have you ever walked into a hotel after hours of travelling and instantly thought; wow, this place gets me?

Well, from the ice cream aesthetics to the shiny gold cocktail making accessories in our studio apartment, that was my first thought upon entering Eden Locke in Edinburgh’s New Town. Insta-HEAVEN.

Extremely community-focussed, Eden Locke isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a space for visitors of all cultures to come together over coffee, fine wines, yoga sessions, acoustic nights and the love of exploring somewhere new.

Nestled in the heart of the vibrant city centre, just around the corner from Edinburgh Castle, these adorable serviced apartments are tucked away above Hyde & Son, an ultra chilled coffee shop by day, chic cocktail bar by night.

Classing itself as ‘Edinburgh’s first Purist bar’, the craft beers, wines and spirits on offer are expertly hand-picked for inclusion on the shelf, their motto being that if a spirit can’t be enjoyed neat, then it ain’t gracing the menu. Very much feeling the love for the joy of a nice tipple, the artisan cocktail theme carries on upstairs, with recipe books and accessories to get mixing up a storm.

I could tell this was going to be my kinda joint…

Designed for staying awhile to truly explore the BEAUT of a city that is the Scottish capital, your apartment is kitted out with all you’ll need for an extended trip. A true home away from home, you’ll find a dishwasher, washing machine, oven, cooking utensils, and even a breakfast bag filled with goodies awaiting you.

All of this of course is enveloped in the most dreamy marble, that alone was enough to get me up to throw together a breakfast!

But my favourite part?

Only the rainfall shower, complete with specially made cruelty-free cosmetics from Kinsey Apothecary. There is literally no better feeling after a long day pounding the streets exploring every inch of a new city (we racked up 26,000 steps on day one!) than to come home to a huge steamy shower and lather yourself in Salted Caramel Vanilla and Himalayan Hibiscus. I mean, I feel zen just thinking back to it.

Plus if you’ve really given your Fitbit something to think about, you can request an in-room spa treatment, ranging from massages to makeup.
